Herne the Hunter is a mythical figure from English folklore, often depicted as a ghostly huntsman with antlers on his head. He is believed to haunt Windsor Forest and Great Park, associated with wild, untamed nature and the hunt. According to legend, Herne was a former royal huntsman who met a tragic death, after which he was cursed to roam the forest. He symbolizes the primal, mysterious forces of the wilderness and is sometimes linked to ancient pagan traditions of the Wild Hunt, a spectral chase across the sky led by a supernatural leader.
