Hephaestus was the Olympian god of fire, metalworking, craftsmanship, and volcanoes. He was depicted as a muscular man with a beard, often shown working at his forge or holding a hammer and tongs. His attributes included the anvil, hammer, tongs, and fire. Unlike the other gods, Hephaestus was portrayed as physically imperfect—lame in one leg—yet unmatched in skill and creativity. In classical sculpture and fresco, he was usually depicted clothed, engaged in his work or crafting divine artifacts.
Our Hephaestus figurine is made of oak hardwood by hands of skilled European carvers. The statue is covered with natural oil wax to keep it older style. Check out other oak statues: Khaos statue, Asteria statue, and Zagreus statue.
