Zagreus was a mysterious god in ancient Greek religion, often associated with rebirth, the underworld, and the Orphic tradition. He was sometimes depicted as a youthful figure entwined with serpents or surrounded by symbols of death and renewal. His attributes included a serpent, a horned crown, ivy leaves, and torches. In mythology, he was identified with Dionysus in Orphic teachings, representing the soul’s cycle of death and reincarnation. In classical art, depictions of Zagreus were rare and symbolic, emphasizing his dual nature and connection to the afterlife.

Our  Zagreus figurine is made of oak hardwood by hands of skilled European carvers. The statue is covered with natural oil wax to keep it older style. Check out other oak statues: Diana statue, Nemesis statue, and Melinoe statue
