Circe was a goddess of magic, transformation, and enchantment in Greek mythology. She was depicted as a beautiful woman often surrounded by enchanted animals or holding a wand or a cup. Her attributes included magical herbs, a wand, a cup, and various animals such as lions and swine. Circe was known for her ability to transform men into beasts and for her deep knowledge of potions and spells. In classical sculpture and fresco, she was usually depicted clothed, often in the act of casting a spell or mixing a potion.
