Sol was the Norse goddess of the sun, light, and warmth. She was depicted as a radiant woman often driving a chariot pulled by swift horses across the sky. Her attributes included the sun, a blazing chariot, and the horses Árvakr and Alsviðr. In Norse mythology and art, she was portrayed as a luminous and swift figure, forever pursued by the wolf Sköll in her daily journey through the heavens.
